Terms & Conditions

Your responsibilities

Grand Touring Club Ltd (“GT”) organises driving events (“Events”) that are not races, rallies or time trials. You must NOT compete in any competitive manner with other participants. You must drive safely and with proper courtesy to all other participants and members of the public.

You must comply with all applicable laws and regulations of the Country in which you are travelling, including all speed regulations, laws of the road, laws relating to the safety of your vehicle and laws relating to the possession or use of prohibited substances. GT accepts no responsibility for the consequences of you being refused passage and/or entry/exit to or from any Country visited en-route, and in particular any additional costs incurred are your own responsibility. You must not drive if your ability to do so safely and properly is in any way compromised by illness, lack of adequate rest, or any other condition.

If any participants violate any of these terms and conditions or refuse to follow the instructions given prior to or during the Event by the Event organisers, you may be prohibited from any or further participation in the Event.

Participants are responsible for ensuring their vehicles used in the Event are properly licensed, adhere to all laws and vehicle specifications required in the country/state of travel, and fully insured for use on the public highways in all countries detailed in the itinerary.

When stopping in hotel accommodation, your credit card must be provided for each room as a security deposit when checking in, this is only for any additional charges (such as food or drinks) or damages.

All drivers must hold a full valid and unrestricted driver’s license and a current and valid passport along with any other visa requirements. This is the sole responsibility of the participants.

GT accepts no responsibility for the consequences of you being refused entrance or exit in to or out of any country or city during the Event including any cost incurred, this is all the participant’s responsibility and in particular any additional costs incurred are solely the participants’ responsibility.

It is compulsory that everyone on this Event is covered by an appropriate insurance including driving abroad, third party liabilities and medical cover for yourself. This is not included in the price. For those using their own vehicles please also ensure that you are fully covered by breakdown & rescue insurance suitable for your vehicle and for the countries listed in the associated itinerary when travelling on any of our Events. You should advise your motor insurers you are travelling abroad with your vehicle.

The initial deposit and any subsequent balance payments are non-refundable under any circumstances. A full or partial credit may be issued should we be given sufficient notice of a cancellation. Should any Event be cancelled for reasons beyond our control, no refunds can be issued. These include: war, threat of war, riots, civil disturbances, terrorist activity, industrial disputes, natural disasters, natural disturbances including volcano eruptions, fire, epidemics, health risks, changes due to rescheduling or cancellation of flights by an airline, closed or congested airports or ports, hurricanes and other actual or potential severe weather conditions, and any other similar Event.

Should you wish to cancel your participation in the Event this must be made in writing in the form of an email. No cancellation will become effective until such written notice is confirmed as received by us. You will become liable to pay the following cancellation fees if you cancel within these periods before the start date of the trip:

More than 62 days – loss of deposit only (50% of Event price)

61-32 days – 75% of Event price

Less than 32 days – 100% of Event price

All cancellations will be confirmed by us with a cancellation invoice due for immediate settlement.

Cancellation by us may be necessary in exceptional circumstances or because insufficient people have booked your chosen Event to make it commercially viable. We reserve the right at our absolute discretion to cancel your Event and if cancellation occurs because of insufficient numbers, we will notify you at least four weeks before departure. On the very rare occasion that a tour is cancelled we will make a full refund of monies paid to us and/or offer the opportunity to re-book on a suitable alternative tour if available.

I hereby agree to release, defend, indemnify, and hold harmless GT, its officers, directors, employees, consultants, agents, Event sponsors and licensees and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, suits, liabilities or actions arising directly or indirectly out of my actions or otherwise from my participation in the Event whether made or claimed during or after the Event, including all associated costs and expenses and any amounts which GT may pay as a settlement or compromise of any such claims or liabilities.

I have read this waiver, fully understand its terms, and understand that I have given up substantial rights by signing it (electronically via the website). I have done so freely and without inducement, coercion, or duress. I intend this waiver to be a complete and unconditional release of all liability to the greatest extent allowed by law. I agree that, if any portion of this waiver is held to be invalid, that the balance of the waiver shall continue in full force and effect.

I acknowledge and realise that participation in an Event is potentially dangerous and that there are numerous risks associated with my participation. Such risks and dangers include, but are not limited to, traffic accidents, collisions with pedestrians, vehicles, other drivers, and/or fixed or moving objects, and the negligence of other drivers. Further, I fully understand and realise that my participation in any Event may result in serious bodily injury and/or death to myself or others. I further realise and understand that the route of the Events will require driving on public roadways upon which the hazards of travelling are to be expected. Further, I realise that participation in any Event will require strenuous physical exertion as participants will be required to drive for very long periods of time over several days, including the risk of driving through inclement weather.

With full knowledge and understanding of the risks associated with my participation in any Event, I enter the Event voluntarily and fully accept and assume every such risk for loss, damage, or injury (including death).

By booking the Event I declare that all the information contained on the entry form is correct and I acknowledge that I have read and understood all the terms and conditions and I agree in full to the terms and conditions above and I accept all the terms and conditions relating to my participation in the Event.

Please note that by entering any Event and accepting these terms and conditions you are concluding a legally binding agreement with us to participate in the Event on these terms and conditions.
